Manship Named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week

Jeff Manship was named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week last week for going 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA. Manship started two games and allowed only one run off of four hits in fourteen innings pitched. Jeff also had seventeen strikeouts during the two game span.

On April 30th, Manship went seven innings while only allowing one hit in a 3-0 win over Fort Wayne. Jeff had eight strikeouts in the win. May 5th proved to be another superb outing from Manship. He pitched seven innings of four hit, one run baseball. Jeff picked up another nine strikeouts in his third win of the season.

Manship leads the Midwest League in strikeouts (45) and is fourth in the league in ERA (0.92).

On Sunday, May 13th, following the Double Header vs. Kane County at 2:00 pm, 200 people will have the opportunity to go on field and pick up a plastic egg. One of those plastic eggs will have a voucher for a Blue Diamond worth $1,600. All of the other eggs will have randomly selected prizes from Brill Jewelers and the Beloit Snappers. In just 9 days, Hall of Famer and former Chicago Cub, Ryne Sandberg, will be coming to Beloit. As the new manager of the Peoria Chiefs, Sandberg will be here May 19th through May 20th, as well as June 21st through June 24th. Tickets are going fast!!!
