Goals:
- Anthony Mantha beats Eric Comrie to open the scoring on a hard wrist shot at 6:03 of the first period.
- Mark Zengerle picks up a loose puck in the slot and fires it past a sprawling Comrie at 17:42 of the first.
- Martin Frk scores off his own rebound after a feed in front of the net from Eric Tangradi at 13:36 of the third period.
- Austen Brassard tips in a slap shot from Scott Kosmachuk on the powerplay at 17:25 of the third.
- Mark Zengerle scores his second of the game with an empty net goal at 18:28.
Highlights/Notes:
- The Moose picked up their first regulation loss at home since Nov. 20, a stretch of seven games (5-0-0-2).
- Eric Comrie made 30+ saves for the third straight game. It was his first loss at home since his first start at the MTS Centre on Oct. 24.
- Defenceman Brenden Kichton recorded an assist for the third straight game. He leads the team in scoring with three goals and 16 assists for 19 points in 26 games played
- Austen Brassard set a new career high in goals by scoring his seventh goal of the season. He has recorded four goals in his last five games.
- Scott Kosmachuk now has three points (1G, 2A) in his last three games.
- This was the first game between the Moose and the Griffins since Nov. 5, 2010 and first time in Winnipeg since Oct. 16, 2010.
- Grand Rapids now leads the season series 1-0-0-0 with three more games to play this season (Jan. 5, Mar. 11 & 12).
Next Game is Tuesday, Jan. 5 at the MTS Centre in a rematch against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
