
Mandeville Sent To Columbia To Complete Cava-Reimers Deal

STOCKTON, Calif. - The San Diego Gulls announced Monday that Martin Mandeville has been traded to the Columbia Inferno as the future considerations for the Chris Cava - Jason Reimers deal. Cava is expected to arrive in Stockton and be ready to make his Gulls debut Tuesday against the Thunder.
Mandeville recorded 17 points (6g, 11a) and 54 penalty minutes in 45 games with San Diego. The 21-year-old rookie winger from Sorel, Quebec previously spent five seasons in juniors with Baie Comeau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. During his five-year tenure in juniors, Mandeville tallied 154 points (62g, 92a) and 485 penalty minutes in 311 games.
Cava recorded 17 points (5g, 12a) in 31 games for Columbia this season. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Thunder Bay, Ontario established career highs last season with seven goals, 22 assists and 29 points for the Mississippi Sea Wolves. He also racked up 214 penalty minutes, tops on Mississippi. In four complete seasons, he has averaged 196 penalty minutes and has participated in postseason action every year since turning pro in 2000-01.
The Gulls play in Stockton again Tuesday at 7 p.m. before opening a four-game homestand Wednesday against the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 7:05 p.m. San Diego will then host the Las Vegas Wranglers Friday at 7:35 p.m. and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Friday is Military Appreciation Night with a sleeveless T-shirt giveaway. Saturday is Disco Night and special "Fro" wings will be handed out.
