Mallette gets a call from Cincinnati

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers have announced that CARL MALLETTE has been promoted to the AHL and will be in uniform tonight for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks when they take on the Chicago Wolves in Chicago.

MALLETTE (6-1, 195lbs., forward) leads the ECHL in scoring with 31 points (15G, 16A), which includes a 7-game scoring streak. After playing 25 games with the Grrrowl this season, and 73 games in the ECHL last year (50 with Florida and 23 with Roanoke), this will be the first trip to the AHL for the second-year professional. Mallette, who was signed as a free agent by the Grrrowl in the off-season, participated in the Edmonton Road Runners training camp prior to the season.

The Grrrowl return home today after a 3-2 west coast road trip, capped off with a 1-0 shutout of the Wranglers on Tuesday night in Las Vegas. Mike Morrison (G) stopped all 45 shots on goal in the first shutout of the 2003-04 season, and the 5th of his professional career. Greenville had split the first four games of the road trip with wins over Fresno and Bakersfield, and losses to Long Beach and Fresno.

The Grrrowl are back at home on Saturday, December 18th at 7:05pm against the Gwinnett Gladiators. Saturday will be the annual Teddy Bear Toss and Grrrowl cap night, presented by Pepsi.
