Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons lost to the Long Beach Ice Dogs at Save Mart Center by a score of 4-2, ending their home-unbeaten streak at eight games. The team went 7-0-1 during the span that dates back to Nov. 6.

The Falcons out shot the Ice Dogs 16 to 10 in the first period, but went into the first intermission trailing, 2-1. The Ice Dogs started and ended the first period scoring goals from Chris Kenady and Bill Lindsay, respectively, while Jason Weaver scored in between for Fresno.

In the second period, Long Beach went up 3-1 after Kenady scored during a power play for his second goal of the night. The Falcons cut the lead to 3-2 after Dan Tessier broke away from everyone and scored an unassisted goal, only to have the lead go back to two goals for Long Beach after Nathan Martz scored shortly afterward.

Neither team was able to score during a defensive third period. The 4-2 loss in front of an announced crowd of 3,058 gives the Falcons a 1-3-0 record in the season series with their fellow West Division opponents.

Fresno will be celebrating an Hawaiian Christmas with its fans on Friday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. during its next game against the defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads.
