Madison Mallards News Release
Following a sweep of a doubleheader on Monday, the Madison Mallards (20-12) waited out a two and a half hour rain delay to beat the Booyah by a final of 9-1.
Eliot Turnquist (UW-Milwaukee) pitched a gem for the Mallards going six innings allowing just one run and striking out a season-high 13.
The Ducks offense tacked on three in the first and never looked back. Drake Baldwin (Missouri State) had a two-run double to start the scoring for Madison.
Bryant Shellenbarger (Akron) drove home two runs with a single in the seventh, capping off the big night at the plate for the Mallards hitters.
Tonight's game was the finale of the three game series with the Booyah and the finale of the season series as they win it 8-4.
Tomorrow, the Mallards will head to Mequon to start a two-game set with the Lakeshore Chinooks. First pitch at Kapco Park will be at 6:35 p.m. tomorrow as well as Friday.
