QUACK TRACKS

Road Trip

The Mallards went 0-2-1 on a three-game road trip last week. The Mallards fell 5-2 last Tuesday in Missouri, earned one point for last Friday's 3-2 shootout loss in Norfolk and last Saturday closed the trip with a 2-1 setback in Wheeling.

Rough Road

The Mallards have gone winless (0-2-2) in four road games since winning their season opener in Allen October 16.

Slow Starts

The Mallards gave up at least the first two goals in each of their three games last week. They fell behind 3-0 last Tuesday at Missouri and allowed the first two goals last Friday at Norfolk and again last Saturday at Wheeling.

Even Steven

The Mallards have gone the equivalent of better than 11 periods (220:38) without a 5-on-5 goal. They have scored five power play goals, one shorthanded goal and one extra attacker goal since Raphael Bussieres scored an even strength goal at 4:22 of the second period of the Mallards' 5-2 win over Wichita on October 25.

Late Show

The Mallards rallied with two goals in the final 5:01 of the third period to earn a point last Friday at Norfolk. Olivier Archambault scored the Mallards' first goal at 14:59 of the third. Guillaume Gelinas provided the tying goal with exactly one minute left in regulation.

First Blood

The Mallards have gone 3-0-0 when scoring first and 0-3-2 when allowing the first goal.

Shootout

Last Friday's setback in Norfolk was the Mallards' second defeat in as many shootouts this season.

High Five

The Mallards in last Tuesday's 5-2 loss at Missouri set a season high for goals allowed.

Debut

Defenseman Kevin Gibson made his Mallard debut last Tuesday at Missouri.

Archie

Archambault, who scored his first Mallard goal last Friday at Norfolk, has recorded two points in three of his first five games with the Mallards and is now tied with Gelinas and Matt Neal for the team lead in points (6).

Blue Line

Gelinas, who has collected points in each of the Mallards' last three games (1-2-3), is tied for third among ECHL defensemen in goals (3) and is tied for fifth among defensemen in points. Mike Monfredo is tied for third among defensemen in assists (5).

Shooting Gallery

The Mallards set season highs for shots (39) and shots allowed (40) last Friday at Norfolk. Steve Michalek in that game set a team season high for saves (37).

Between the Pipes

Michalek is tied for tenth in the ECHL in goals against average (1.95) after giving up two goals or fewer in four of his first five games. Brody Hoffman made a personal season high 36 saves last Saturday at Wheeling.

Special Teams

The Mallards have scored on five of their last 11 power plays to climb to fifth in the league on the man advantage (22.6 percent). They are rank twelfth in the ECHL in penalty killing (84.4 percent). Zach Pochiro scored the Mallards' first shorthanded goal of the season last Tuesday at Missouri.

Head to Head

Last Tuesday's game was the first of five between the Mallards and Mavericks this season. The Mavericks Wednesday night make their only visit of the season to the iWireless Center. All-time, the Mallards have turned in a 23-25-4 overall record against the Mavericks and have gone 10-11-2 at home against Missouri...The Mallards have gone 1-0-1 against the Thunder this season and 1-0-0 against Wichita at home. The Mallards have gone 14-17-2 all-time against Wichita and 8-8-0 against the Thunder on home ice. The two clubs meet seven times this season...Saturday night's game is the Mallards' first ever regular season meeting with the Fuel and the first of ten games between the two teams this season.

The Mallards have once again partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.

ON THE AIR

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of Mallards Hockey Presented by Genesis Power Sports Performance. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net. A limited number of Mallards games will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230 due to conflicts with University of Illinois basketball and football and Green Bay Packer football. ECHL-TV pay-per-view video webcasts and free audio webcasts of all Mallards games are also available at myqcmallards.net.

Single game tickets are also available at the iWireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
