* Rhett Bly posted an assist and a +1 rating along with six shots on goal. * Peter Schneider scored his first goal of the season for the Fuel.
FRI vs FTW 4-2 W
* Schneider recorded a goal in his second consecutive game and established a three-game point streak (2-1-3). He also scored the game-winning goal shorthanded. * Bly recorded an assist in his second straight game and also established a three-game point streak (2-2-4). * Josh Brittain scored his first two goals in a Fuel uniform. * Ben Marshall recorded two assists for his first multi-point game of his career. * Cody Sharib's goal was his first as a pro. * Garret Bembridge recorded career point #625 with an assist, also establishing a three-game point streak (1-2-3).
Next Week: WED @ EVN 10:30 AM FRI @ EVN 8:15 PM Indy visits Evansville for the second and third times this season starting with a morning game against the IceMen at 10:30 am ET and returning for a Friday night game as well. Last time the two teams met was October 17 in Evansville when the Fuel received goals from Alex Lavoie, Kyle Stroh and an empty-net goal from Daniel Ciampini en route to a 3-1 win. Mac Carruth stopped 33-of-34 shots for the win.
SAT vs QC 7:35 PM Quad City sits one point in front of the Fuel heading into this week's action with a 3-3-0-2 mark good for 8 points and a tie for the top of the Midwest Division. The Mallards are first in the division and third in the Western Conference with 111 penalty minutes and haven't won in the last three tries, collecting only a single point (0-2-0-1). Guillaume Gelinas (3-3-6), Matt Neal (3-3-6) and Olivier Archambault (1-5-6) all lead the Mallards in scoring.
PLAYER AND GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATIONS
PLAYER Peter Schneider had goals in back-to-back games this week as the Fuel lost at Kalamazoo 4-3 and beat Fort Wayne at home Friday night. Schneider's goal against the Komets was the team's first shorthanded marker of the year and also served as the game-winning goal.
GOALIE Shane Owen saw action in both Fuel games this week and went 1-1-0 with a .905 save percentage and 3.00 goals against average. Owen has appeared in four of the first six Fuel games of the season.
