Mallards Partner with Genesis Health System
November 6, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. -- The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League this evening partnered with Genesis Health System and Cumulus Media in association with KWQC HD and the Dispatch Argus to raise $19,800 for the Genesis Health Services Foundation through the Mallards' "Pink in the Rink Night" jersey auction at the Flock's game against the Bloomington PrairieThunder at the i wireless Center.
The Mallards wore special edition pink jerseys during the game and those sweaters went up for bid in both an in-game silent auction (in which several other Mallards prizes were also bid upon) and a live auction immediately following the contest. The highest bidding was for the jersey of Mallards captain Tyler Kindle, which was auctioned off for $1,000.
Over the last 16 years Mallards jersey auctions have raised better than $600,000 to benefit local charities.
In addition, $2 from each of the tickets sold to tonight's "Pink in the Rink" game will also go to the Genesis Health Services Foundation.
The Mallards return to action next Thursday evening at 7:05 p.m. against the Missouri Mavericks on home ice and then take on the Arizona Sundogs next Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. at the i wireless Center. Next Thursday is "Thirsty Thursday"- fans will be able to purchase $2 drafts and soft drinks from i wireless Center concessions stands during the Mallards' meeting with the Mavericks. Next Saturday brings the Mallards' Teddy Bear Toss presented by B100 and CBS 4. Fans are encouraged to bring new unwrapped teddy bears to next Saturday's game and toss them onto the ice after the Mallards' first goal. The bears will then be collected and donated to the Festival of Trees.
Tickets for next week's games- and all Mallards regular season home games- are available in person at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days other than Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the end of the first period. On Sundays on which the Mallards play at home the ticket office will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the end of the first period.
