Game one was scoreless through seven frames. Wilmer Flores turned in six shutout frames for Erie, allowing three hits and two walks. He struck out five. Blake Holub stranded two in scoring position in the seventh.
Holub returned to the mound in the eighth and allowed the free runner at second base to score. Petey Halpin's sacrifice fly was the lone score of the game. Erie went 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position in game one. Holub (0-2) took the loss dispute not allowing an earned run. Davis Sharpe (5-3) earned the win in relief, tossing three hitless innings to end the game.
The SeaWolves were able to rebound well in game two. Ty Madden started for Erie and tossed five good frames. He stranded runners in scoring position with less than two outs in each of the first three frames.
Erie started the scoring in game two on back-to-back home runs by Gage Workman and Ben Malgeri in the third inning against Akron starter Tanner Burns.

Madden allowed the tying run to score in the fifth. Jose Tena led off with a double and Halpin walked. Angel Martinez bunted them to second and third with one out. Bryan Lavastida hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at two.
In the bottom half, Erie blasted two more solo homers against Akron reliever Mason Hickman. Jake Holton hit the go-ahead shot. Two batters later, Malgeri hit his second of the game.
