The Somerset Patriots were defeated by the Bowie Baysox by a score of 7-6 on Friday night at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, Maryland.
The Patriots came back from an early 5-0 deficit to draw to within a run by the time the game ended.
RHP Matt Sauer (3.0 IP, 5 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, HBP, 3 K, HR) threw a season-high 67 pitches and was tagged with the losses.
Sauer pitched into the fourth inning, allowing two baserunners to reach, which both came in to score.
C Mickey Gasper (2-for-4, RBI, R, HR, 2 K) hit his fourth home run of the season and extended his Eastern League-leading hit streak to eight games.
Across the eight-game hit streak, Gapser is 13-for-27 with 8 RBI, 10 R, 4 HR, 2 2B and 3 BB.
1B Eric Wagaman (2-for-3, 2 R, 2B, BB) registered his eighth multi-hit game of the season out of 28 games played.
