Magic Pick up First Win against the Greensboro Swarm

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, pick up their first win of the season against the Greensboro Swarm with a final score 102-89.

The Swarm jumped out to a 21-10 lead with 3:50 left in the first quarter but the Magic went on a 15 point run to lead Greensboro 25-21 at the end of the first. The Magic continued the momentum in the second quarter outscoring the Swarm 30-20 with the score 55-41 going into the half. Despite a competitive second half, the Magic would walk away with the 102-89 win.

The Magic were led by Assignment Player, Isaiah Briscoe who scored 19 points and 6 assists. Gabe York was hot off the bench and a key contributor with 14 points on the night. Two Way Player, Troy Caupain had 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Braian Angola scored 11 points in 16:50 of play. Byron Mullens was just shy of the double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

For the Swarm, Jaylen Barford had the hot hand with 27 points. Cat Barber came off the bench to score 18 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Chinanu Onuaku had a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Both teams hit the road and head to Greensboro for the second game of a back-to-back. The game will be at The Fieldhouse in Greensboro, NC at 7:00PM.
