Ryan Lang scored twice including the game winner while Mike Wall stopped 32 Florida Everblades shots for his first ECHL shutout as the Augusta Lynx secured a playoff berth with a 3-0 victory at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center on Sunday afternoon.

Lang kicked off the scoring with the only goal of the first period at 6:40 from Sam Ftorek. Ftorek fired the puck on net twice and was denied both times by Kevin Nastiuk, but Lang swooped in for the rebound at the side of the Florida goal to make it 1-0.

A scoreless second period gave way to a pair of strange goals for the Lynx. First, rookie defenseman Will Bodine faked dumping the puck around the boards, instead opting to fire it on net and beat Nastiuk low glove at 2:17 for his first professional goal. Ken Scuderi picked up an assist on the play. Finally, Lang capped the scoring by putting the puck towards the Everblades net from behind the goal line, bouncing it off the stick and then skate of Nastiuk for the 3-0 final. Ftorek and Phil Cole added the help to seal the win for Augusta.

Wall was solid all game long, stopping many point-blank chances in the game to earn his ninth win of the year and help Augusta clinch a playoff berth for the first time in four years.

Augusta will now finish off their current five-game home stand with Gwinnett in town Thursday and Friday, followed by an April Fool's Day game against Charlotte on Saturday. All three games start at 7:35 pm, with the Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show one half-hour before game time on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
