Lynx can clinch playoff spot with win today

March 26, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release

Today could be the day! That's right Lynx fans, with a win today over the Florida Everblades at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center today, Augusta can clinch a playoff spot to put the team back in the post-season for the first time in four years!

The game starts at 4:05 pm, and good seats are still available for the contest through the team office at (706) 724-4ICE, and at the ARCCC Box Office. With a win today, the Lynx can lock the Columbia Inferno out of a playoff spot by virtue of winning head-to-head playoff tie breaks and ensuring Columbia cannot finish with more points than Augusta.

Augusta comes in off a 6-2 victory over the Inferno last night in which six different Lynx players found the score sheet while Jason Wolfe stopped 26 shots for the win. The Lynx look to carry that momentum over to today's game against Florida, who are heading into game six of a seven game road trip today here in Augusta.

Also, the Lynx would like to inform their fans that the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center has implanted a new policy that prohibits standing in the inner concourse of the arena's seating bowl during games. This policy is in effect as of this weekend's games, with enforcement starting last night against Columbia. For further information or clarification of the new policy, please contact the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center at (706) 722-3521.
