CHARLESTON, S.C..− Travis Fuller scored twice for the Lynx but it wasn't enough as the South Carolina Stingrays held off Augusta for a 5-3 win on Saturday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.

A pair of first period power play goals put South Carolina ahead 2-0. Paul Kelly scored the opening goal at 8:40 as the puck trickled in past net minder Joel Martin. Then, with two minutes left, Sasha Pokulok fired a wrist shot from the left wing side to give the Stingrays a 2-0 lead.

South Carolina added to the lead as Tommy Maxwell scored to make it 3-0 Stingrays. The Lynx scoring punch awoke in the second period as Patrick Bordeleau with good positioning between the circles netted his first goal of the season to cut the lead to 3-1. Travis Fuller followed with his first as he received a perfect feed from Michael Mullen at center ice to make it 3-2 in favor of South Carolina. The Stingrays answered when Pierre-Luc O'Brien followed through on the power play to give South Carolina a two goal lead. Augusta responded as Fuller tallied his second of the night and after two periods, the Lynx were within one goal, down 4-3.

In the third, the Stingrays added insurance when Michael Dubuc beat Martin and the Stingrays went on for the 5-3 victory. The Lynx were out shot in the game 38-20 as Martin made 33 saves in the defeat. Augusta finished 2 for 8 on the power play while South Carolina was 3 for 5.
