Lunden to Peoria, Lukacevic to Sweden

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that left wing Josh Lunden has earned a call-up to the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League (AHL). Left wing Ned Lukacevic has also left the team to play for Sundsvall in Sweden.

Lunden, 25, played in 23 games for Las Vegas this season, collecting 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists) and 36 penalty minutes. He appeared in last night's road game against the Stockton Thunder and tallied two goals and an assist for three points in the team's 5-4 win. A native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, the 6'2'', 202-pound left wing split last season between the Wranglers and the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), scoring eight points (5 goals, 3 assists) in 11 games for Las Vegas.

"Josh plays with pace and weight, and doesn't take any shifts off," said Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Mougenel. "Like most of the guys here, he deserves an opportunity at the next level. We wish him all the best."

Lukacevic, 25, has spent time with the Wranglers for three seasons. In 2011-12, he recorded 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) and 16 penalty minutes across 17 games. The 6'0'', 200-pound left wing also holds the Wranglers' all-time record for fastest goal to start a period after scoring eight seconds into the third period in a game versus the Ontario Reign on Jan. 9, 2010.

The Wranglers take on the Stockton Thunder tonight in the second of a three-game road series. Las Vegas took game one last night with a 5-4 win, and return home to Orleans Arena to face the Alaska Aces on Thursday, Feb. 2.
