The LumberKings improved to 4-3 in the second half staging a comeback victory after trailing 6-0 midway through the game as Clinton reliever Marc Lamacchia (3-0; 3.25) delivered a perfect 5.1 innings of relief.
The Bees chased Clinton starter John Bannister (5.16 ERA) after just 3.2, having gotten to the right hander for six runs on seven hits and three walks, but Lamacchia took the ball and delivered his best outing of the year, fanning five during his perfect 5.1 innings.
Catcher Kevin Richardson (.253 / .358 / .403) capped a 3-4 performance that included a double with a ninth inning single that drove in Tug Hulett, giving Clinton the 7-6 win. Hulett (.291 / .424 / .373), who went 2-5 with a triple and an RBI had led off the home half of the ninth with a single.
