
LumberKings and Chiefs Suspended

Clinton LumberKings News Release
Peoria, ILL - The Clinton LumberKings and the Peoria Chiefs battled each other and the weather for the four innings of baseball they were able to play Saturday night at O'Brien Field. Finally, the weather won. With the LumberKings leading 5-2 with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, a big storm rained down on Peoria forcing the suspended game to be picked up tomorrow. The game will be resumed at noon on Sunday. After the conclusion of the contest, the two teams will regroup and play a second time a half hour later.
Right-hander Brett Shankin will start for Clinton in the second game and he will be opposed by right-hander Michael Jensen for Peoria. Sunday marks the final day of the first-half in the Midwest League. All teams have four days off with the Midwest League All-Star game being played in Kane County on Tuesday, June 19 at 6:00 PM.
