The Lugnuts have now won two straight following the 10-game losing streak.

With a one-run lead in hand, Avendano (Win, 6-6) carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before it was finally broken up by a leadoff single off the bat of Ildemaro Vargas. Avendano outpitched Helisek (Loss, 6-4), who also tossed seven strong innings. Helisek allowed one run - earned - on eight Lansing hits. The left-hander did not issue a single walk while striking out four.

The only run of the ball game was scored in the home half of the second inning.
