
Lowry spins 13th quality to earn 10th win

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 20, 2015)- The Hagerstown Suns homered in the second inning but never scored another run, as the Intimidators held on for a 3-2 win Monday afternoon at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. Ryan Leonards led-the-way offensively going 3-for-4 with a run scored from the clean-up spot.
Thad Lowry earned the win (10-5), working 7.0 innings, allowing two runs on three hits including a home run while walking two and striking out two. Lowry is the first Intimidator to reach double-digit wins since 2011.
In the second, Hagerstown took a 2-0 lead when Jeff Gardner lined a two-run home run over the right-field wall.
In the home half of the frame, Kannapolis tied the game, 2-2, when Leonards scored on a sac-fly by Michael Danner and John ZIznewski scored a single by Louis Silverio.
Kannapolis took their first lead of the game, 3-2, on an RBI single by Ethan Gross with the bases loaded in the fourth.
Suns starter Luis Reyes took the loss (4-6) working 5.0 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking three.
Matt Cooper earned the save (9), working the final 2.0 innings, allowing no runs, one hit while striking out three.
