ALTOONA - The homer-happy Harrisburg Senators outslugged the Altoona Curve and won by a score of 7-3 at Blair County Ballpark on Friday night.

The loss snaps Altoona's modest three-game winning streak.

In a game that featured three mammoth home runs, the Curve (42-55) instilled the first big blow of the night. In the bottom of the first, Brad Corley belted a two-run home run to bring the crowd of 6,590 to its feet and put Altoona ahead, 2-0.

Harrisburg (55-42) countered immediately with a solo home run off the bat of Marvin Lowrance to cut the Curve lead in half, 2-1 in the top of the second.

In the top of the fourth, the Senators took a lead they would not relinquish. Harrisburg sent eight men to the plate against Luis Munoz (1-4), and racked up four hits, two walks and a sacrifice fly to take a 5-2 lead. Munoz suffered the loss, lasting 3 2/3 innings for Altoona.

Altoona chipped into the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Jason Bowers' RBI single brought home Anthony Webster to cut the Curve deficit to 5-3.

That's as close as Altoona would get. The next inning with a man aboard, Bill Rhinehart belted a two-run home run to right field that hit the Skyliner roller coaster in Lakemont Park. The blast extended the Harrisburg lead to 7-3.

The Curve and Senators will be back at it on Saturday night at BCB. A 7:05 p.m. first pitch is slated with right-hander Dan Reichert (NR), newly acquired from the Cleveland Indians on July 10, set to make his Curve debut. Reichert will be opposed by Harrisburg righty Craig Stammen (2-1, 1.67).

Saturday at Blair County Ballpark, the first 2,000 fans will walk home with a commemorative, limited edition Curve 10th Anniversary Photo Ball courtesy of East Coast Gun Sales. The Curve will also salute their 2005 Curve squad in their season-long tribute to every Curve team over the organization's first decade. Married couples can also renew their wedding vows in a post-game ceremony with Pastor Parney (Curve General Manager Todd Parnell).

Prior to the game, the Curve will host a charity softball game between the Pennsylvania's Army National Guard 2-112 and the Altoona Fire Department and Logan Township Police Department from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. The local 2-112 Infantry Stryker from the 56th Brigade of the 28th Infantry Division will be deployed for training in September and sent to Iraq at the beginning of 2009. More information can be found at AltoonaCurve.com. Great seats for Saturday's contest and the remaining Curve homestand, which lasts through Thursday, are still available. To get Curve tickets, fans can call 877-99-CURVE, log on to AltoonaCurve.com or stop by the BCB box office.
