ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it two in a row following the All-Star break as they take the field in the second game of a four-game set against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) at Canal Park. The âWolves have won two straight against the Aeros and are 4-4 at Canal Park...The âWolves climbed out of the basement in the Southern Division and the club currently sits in fifth place, 21.5 games behind the Aeros...Akron is the top team in the league and they lead the Southern Division by 6.5 games over second place Harrisburg and seven games ahead of third place Bowie...Righty Lauren Gagnier takes the mound for Erie, making his second start at the Double-A level. Gagnier is on his third stop on the Tigers minor league chain. He began the season with Class-A West Michigan and was promoted to Triple-A Toledo before joining the âWolves. He took a loss in his Erie debut in his last outing against Reading. In the game, Gagnier went 0.2 innings, allowing nine runs, eight earned, on five hits with a pair of walks...Lefty Ryan Edell takes the bump for the Aeros, making his 19th start of the season and his fourth against the âWolves. Edell took a no-decision in his last start against Reading. In the game, he went seven innings, allowing a run on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. Edell has not walked a batter in his last two starts. In his previous three starts against the âWolves, Edell is 1-2 with a 4.86 ERA.
