Akron RubberDucks News Release

Cleveland Indians pitcher Fausto Carmona will make a rehab start for the Aeros against the Erie SeaWolves Saturday night, July 19th at Canal Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. as Carmona continues to rehab a left hip strain that forced him to the Major League disabled list May 24th. Carmona spent the second half of 2003 and the first half of 2004 at Canal Park, playing with the Aeros before developing into the pitcher that took the American League by storm in 2007.

Carmona made his first rehab start Monday for Class A Lake County and pitched well, surrendering just a double in four innings of work, and even tossed a short bullpen session after the outing. The right-hander opened the season with solid numbers in Cleveland, going 4-2 with a 3.10 ERA including a complete game shutout May 12th against Toronto at Progressive Field. This is the sinker-baller's first career stint on the DL.

The Aeros continue this four-game homestand Friday at 7:05 p.m. against the SeaWolves. Left-hander Ryan Edell (5-5, 4.30 ERA) gets the start for the Aeros against Erie's Lauren Gagnier (0-1, 108.00 ERA). It will be Fireworks Night at Canal Park with a post-game display, synched to music, presented by Time Warner Cable. The game broadcast begins at 6:50 p.m. on SportsRadio 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com. For more information, please call the Aeros at (330) 253-5151.

Great seats still remain for each of the Aeros games this weekend! Call the Aeros Ticket Office at 330.253.5153 to purchase your tickets over the phone or visit us on the web at www.akronaeros.com.
