Great Lakes Loons News Release
MIDLAND, MI - The Great Lakes Loons will wrap up the regular season with a six-game homestand beginning on Wednesday, September 1, complete with fireworks, theme nights, bobbleheads, national entertainers, concerts, and one ultimate fan experience.
On Wednesday, the homestand kicks off with a Fireworks Loontacular powered by Dow Corning. Fireworks will follow the game against the Lake County Captains and will be preceded by MBS Ball Launch, a challenge where fans throw $1 tennis balls at a target on the field for their chance to win a $400 voucher to MBS Airport. A second Fireworks Loontacular and Ball Launch will take place on Saturday, September 4.
The Loons will conclude the six-part Tigers Legend Series on Thursday, presented by MidMichigan Health, by giving away Norm Cash bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans through the gates. Norm Cash played for the Tigers for 15 years of his 17-year career, to accumulate 1,820 hits, 377 home runs and 1,103 RBI. Cash was a four-time American League All-Star and part of the '68 Tigers Championship team.
The world-famous inflatable entertainers, the Zooperstars, will be performing during Friday night's contest. Alex Frogriguez, Roger Clamens, Harry Canary, and all of the other favorites will be on hand to mess with unsuspecting umpires and bat boys.
After Garage Sale Night on Sunday, the Great Lakes Loons will bring the 2010 regular season to a close on Monday, September 5, with a special game time of 3:05 p.m. During the game, three preselected contestants will compete to win the Budweiser Ultimate Fan Experience-four tickets to a Lions, Tigers and Pistons game. Additionally, Michigan singer/songwriter Brett Mitchell and the Giant Ghost will put on a live performance before and after the Loons game against Bowling Green.
Great seats are still available for the Loons six remaining regular season home games, as well as the Loons first home playoff game scheduled for Thursday, September 9. For tickets and more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
Loons playoff details to be released later this week.
