MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons are once again partnering with the Midland Center for the Arts (MCFTA) for a Blood Drive Challenge through Michigan Blood. The two organizations will compete to see who can donate more blood during blood drives August 21 and August 26.
Donations can be made at the MCFTA Auditorium Lobby on Thursday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Dow Diamond Michigan Blood donor facility from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26. There will be a sign-up sheet at both locations in which participants can designate which organization they are donating for.
Each participating donor will be included in a grand prize drawing courtesy of the Loons and MCFTA. The grand prize package includes: Four tickets to "Shrek: The Musical" at the MCFTA on Sept. 7; an exclusive dinner at Dow Diamond prior to the Shrek performance; four drink vouchers to the Saints & Sinners Lounge; an MCFTA t-shirt; and four box seats and first pitch opportunity to a 2015 Loons game. Results of the contest will be announced during the Loons last regular season home game on Friday, August 29. The MCFTA won last year's challenge.
"We are excited to get a second chance at taking on the MCFTA and contributing to the great cause of Michigan Blood," said Loons Vice-President and General Manager Scott Litle.
Donors are encouraged to pre-register by calling Michigan Blood at 1-866-642-5663, or online at https://donate.miblood.org while using the sponsor code mcfta or loons.
