Lincoln Takes Second Game Of Series From Explorers 3-1

Sioux City-----Two costly errors in the eighth inning resulted in two runs for Lincoln as they defeated the Explorers 3-1 here Saturday.

Lincoln had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run by David Espinosa, his tenth of the season.

Saltdogs starting pitcher Moises Melendez had a no-hitter through five inning when Leugim Barroso singled to start the sixth. It wasn't until the seventh inning when the Explorers tied the game at 1-1. Peter Barrows led off the inning with a single and after Austin Gallagher singled moving Barrows to third with one out, Yusuke Inoguchi flied out to left field that scored Barrow to tie the game.

In the eighth inning, Lincoln scored two un-earned runs to win their second straight in the series over the Explorers.

Jason Jarvis pitched eight inning recording a season high seven strikeouts, but took the loss.

The Explorers and Lincoln will close out the series Sunday at Lewis and Clark Park with game time set for 6:05pm.
