Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
SIOUX FALLS - The Sioux Falls Canaries' losing skid reached four games in an 11-4 loss to the Kansas City T-Bones on Saturday night before a sellout crowd of 4,656 at Sioux Falls Stadium.
Kansas City (31-43) clinched the three-game series with the win, and the Canaries fell to 1-4 on their current home stand.
Joey Gathright's looping double to left in the fourth inning broke a 1-1 tie and plated two, and Kansas City never lost the lead. Kennard Jones followed with an RBI single to make it 4-1.
The Canaries (30-43) pulled within one run in the bottom of the fourth, but Kansas City continued to push their advantage with a pair of runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings. In the eighth,
they rallied for three more runs to put the contest out of reach.
Jones led the T-Bones attack with a 3-for-6 performance, scoring two runs and collecting three RBI. Kansas City cracked 17 hits in all and all but one T-Bone had multiple hits.
