AMARILLO, TX - The Sox are two and half games up on the Laredo Lemurs in the south division after winning 12-5 at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium. The game lasted two hours and forty-seven minutes in which 2,488 people witnessed the series-clinching victory. Jason Johnson earned his fifth win in five innings pitched while Cory Patton drove in two-thirds of the Sox' runs.

Amarillo scored one in the first inning with a Joe Weik sacrifice fly to left field after two runners got into scoring position by an error in left. Laredo would take a 4-1 lead in the top of the third on five hits. Runs were batted in by former Sox infielder, Garrett Rau, Stephen Douglas, John Alonso, and Balbino Fuenmayor. Fuenmayor was thrown out at third trying to stretch his double into three bags which ended the inning. The Sox quickly regained the lead, starting with three singles in the bottom half. Following Jorge Delgado's RBI, Chris Grossman walked two batters later to load the bases. Cory Patton came up and hit a grand slam, making it 6-4.

Both offenses would be put down in order for the fourth inning. In the fifth, Stephen Douglas hit a solo homerun to right, bringing the Lemurs within a run. But in the bottom of that inning, Cory Patton hit his second homerun of the game for two more Sox runs. The score was 8-5 going into the sixth. Laredo would not score in the second half of the game.

A single and a walk got runners on for the Sox in the sixth inning. Cory Patton came up and drove in those two runners, and then scored on a Brandon Jones double. Jones scored when the next batter, Trey Ford singled in Amarillo's twelfth run. Laredo's starter, Kyle Wilson finished the sixth but would not return. Jacob Douglas pitched in relief for the Lemurs and allowed no runs on one hit while walking four and striking out one.
