TAMPA BAY, FL - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have recalled defensemen Vladimir Mihalik on an emergency basis from the Admirals, Lightning Executive Vice President & General Manager Brian Lawton announced today.
Mihalik, 6-foot-7, 222 pounds, appeared in his 100th career AHL game on Saturday night in Norfolk versus Manchester. The native of Presov, Slovakia, has appeared in 32 games with Norfolk this season scoring two goals and six assists with 30 penalty minutes. In 100 career AHL games - all with Norfolk - Mihalik has three goals and 24 points.
Mihalik has appeared in five games with Tampa Bay this season, registering one assist and two penalty minutes. He netted his first NHL point with an assist on January 4 at Atlanta. Mihalik made his NHL debut during the Bridgestone NHL Premiere in Prague, Czech Republic in October. He was drafted by the Lightning in the first round, 30th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Admirals' nine-game homestand continues next week with a pair of contests against the Worcester Sharks. The puck drops on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:15.

Saturday night will be Pink in the Rink Night. The event will seek to educate and raise awareness about breast cancer while also raising monies for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Events leading up to and during the game include a breast cancer informational session, survivor participation during game night, "Hockey 101- A Clinic for Women" and a silent auction for player-autographed Tampa Bay Lightning merchandise. Even the ice will be pink! Special $12 Red Level Tickets will be available for groups of 10 or more people. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
