Columbus Recalls Center Derek MacKenzie

Syracuse, NY (January 12, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Derek MacKenzie.

MacKenzie, 27, has appeared in 23 games for the Crunch this season, tallying eight goals, 10 assists and 22 penalty minutes. He is currently tied for first on the team in goals and ranks fourth on the club in scoring.

A native of Sudbury, Ontario, MacKenzie was signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 11, 2007.

The Crunch's next game is Friday, January 16 as they take on the Albany River Rats at the War Memorial at Oncenter at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at 315-473-4444, stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling Ticketmaster at 315-472-0700.
