Pirates vs. Manchester Monarchs Saturday, January 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday is Labatt Blue Light Hockey Night in Portland!

Come get the full night experience, including Labatt drink specials at The Stadium from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dimitri's/Pizza Time, Brian Boru and Matthews Pub will also offer Labatt specials throughout the day.

Fox 23 will be giving away 1,000 complimentary tickets to viewers during the week leading up to January 17. Tune into Fox 23 for your chance to win free Pirates tickets for this game!

Sugarloaf will have a table in the lobby where fans can fill out an entry form for their chance to win two lift tickets good for the rest of the season (excluding holiday weekends).

The Jersey of the Night for this game will be a one-of-a-kind Eric Weinrich St. Louis Blues game-worn jersey. The jersey was worn by Weinrich during the 2005-06 NHL season during which he recorded one goal and 16 assists in 59 games with the Blues. Raffle tickets for this authentic jersey will be sold throughout the game and the lucky winner will have an opportunity to get it signed by Coach Weinrich following the game.

Cast your vote for the Pirates Hall of Fame!

The Portland Pirates have announced that four players will be on the ballot for induction into the Portland Pirates Hall of Fame presented by Unum. Forward Mike Boback, forward Chris Jensen, forward Darren McAusland and former owner, the late Tom Ebright, are all eligible for induction in 2008. Fans may vote from Monday, December 22 to Monday, January 26 for the nominee they think should be inducted into the Hall of Fame, presented by Unum.

United Way Pantry Project

Hungry people in Greater Portland are getting a little help from the Portland Pirates and the Cumberland County Civic Center. The Pirates and the Civic Center have joined the Pantry Project, a food gathering program organized by United Way of Greater Portland to benefit Preble Street and other food pantries in the area.

How you can help...

The United Way pantry will be set up in the lobby of the Civic Center throughout January. The Pantry Project wish list includes food items such as canned goods, pasta and rice, baby food, condiments, coffee and tea, sugar and more. Glass jars are also accepted. Fans can drop off the food items at the pantry shelves anytime they visit the Civic Center for a Pirates game, concert or other event.

Gerbe and Kennedy to visit Mill Creek Shaw's

Pirates forwards Nathan Gerbe and Tim Kennedy will be the Shaw's Mill Creek location this Wednesday, January 14 from 5-6 p.m.. The two players will sign autographs and give away free Pirates tickets. Both players were named to the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team and will take part in the AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester later this month.

On Monday, Pirates broadcaster, Greg Glynn will be live on "The PM Jab" with host Chris Sedenka at 4:45 p.m.

Portland Pirates head coach Kevin Dineen will join "The Morning Jab" with Shoe and Joe at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Weinrich on WJAB 96.3FM

Assistant Coach Eric Weinrich will make his weekly appearance on "The PM Jab" with Chris Sedenka Thursday at 4:45 p.m. Tune in for your chance to win free tickets to an upcoming Pirates game!

COMING SOON...

Pirates vs. Hartford Wolf Pack Monday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m.

It's the Pirates annual matinee game! The Pirates celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with special guests Willie O'Ree and members of the NAACP. Willie O'Ree was the first Canadian of Africian descent to play in the NHL and he is currently the Director of Youth Development and Ambassador for Youth Diversity with the NHL. He will be performing the ceremonial puck drop before the game.

Nickelodeon character Diego from "Go Diego Go" will make a special appearance at the game and be available for photos.

We encourage fans to stick around after the game, lace up their skates and skate with the team, sponsored by Weight Watchers and Mercy Hospital.

Kevin Kaminski Bobblehead Night

Pirates vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers Friday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m.

For the first time in five seasons, the Pirates will give away bobbleheads at a home game. The first 2,000 fans at this game will receive a Kevin Kaminski bobblehead, sponsored by MEMIC.
