
Lightning Reassign Cedrick Desjardins to Syracuse

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned goaltender Cedrick Desjardins to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.
Desjardins, 28, was recalled by the Lightning last week and served as the backup for Anders Lindback for the past three games. He has appeared in 18 games with the Crunch this season, posting a record of 5-8-2 to go along with a 2.75 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. The 6-foot, 203-pound goaltender appeared in his 200th career AHL contest on December 28 against the Norfolk Admirals. In 202 career AHL games, Desjardins has compiled a record of 100-70-14.
The Edmundston, New Brunswick native appeared in three games with the Lightning last season, compiling a record of 0-3-0 to go along with a 3.00 goals-against average and .890 save percentage. Desjardins has played in five career NHL games, all with the Lightning, during the 2010-11 and 2012-13 seasons, notching a record of 2-3-0 with a 2.14 goals-against average and .926 save percentage.
Desjardins was acquired by the Lightning on February 14, 2013 from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for goaltender Dustin Tokarski.
