Adirondack Phantoms News Release
The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that left-wing Tye McGinn has been returned on loan to the Adirondack Phantoms, according to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. In a separate transaction, the Phantoms have announced that goaltender Carsen Chubak has been loaned to the Reading (PA) Royals of the ECHL.
Tye McGinn Tye McGinn, 23, joined the Flyers again last week and played in both of Philadelphia's games this past Saturday and Sunday against Tampa Bay and Montreal. This quick call-up was his fourth time with Philadelphia this season. McGinn has now appeared in eight games for the Flyers this season, recording three goals and averaging 12 minutes of ice-time per game.
He recorded his first career two-goal game in the NHL on October 15 against the Vancouver Canucks. On his career, McGinn has played in 26 games for Philadelphia scoring 6-2-8 with 23 penalty minutes.
He has six goals and 12 points in 28 games with the Phantoms this year, and had a two-point night (1g-1a) in Adirondack's 4-0 win over the Albany Devils on January 4 in his most recent game with the team.
McGinn has played in 137 career games for Adirondack scoring 32-24-56 with 117 PIM. The Fergus, Ontario native is the younger brother of Jamie McGinn of the Colorado Avalanche and is the older brother of Brock McGinn who was a second-round selection of Carolina in 2012 and is currently one of the top scorers in the Ontario Hockey League scoring 24-26-50 in just 32 games.
Carsen Chubak, 24, is in his rookie season of professional hockey. The Prince Albert, Sask. resident made an impressive Phantoms starting debut and big splash on December 28 against the Providence Bruins with a spectacular 38-save performance in a 3-1 win. Included in his first full AHL games were some incredible, diving stops through a full two-minute five-on-three in the second period that induced some of the most deafening cheers at the Glens Falls Civic Center in recent memory.

25 Terrific Seasons
Glens Falls is celebrating its 25th season hosting an AHL team and in so doing now joins an elite group of just 9 other active markets who can make such a claim. It's a great hockey tradition with an old-school feel that began with the Adirondack Red Wings in 1979. In their 20-year tenure at the Glens Falls Civic Center through 1999, the Red Wings won four Calder Cups. The Adirondack Phantoms began play in Glens Falls in 2009-10 and are in their fifth season bringing exciting AHL action to the North Country.
