Shalunov Loaned to Toledo

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs today announced that right winger Maxim Shalunov has been loaned to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL).

The Chelyabinsk, Russia native has played 20 games for the IceHogs, his first year playing professionally in North America, showing four assists. Shalunov was drafted in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft (Round 4, #109 overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks.

Shalunov, 20, returns to the Walleye where he has played five games, recording two goals in those contests.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Jan. 15 vs. Abbotsford Heat. The game is set for an 11 a.m. start as the IceHogs and Heat go head to head for a School Day Game. Over 5,000 Rockford area school children will be in attendance to watch the contest.
