
Anaheim Reassigns Nolan Yonkman to Norfolk

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned defenseman Nolan Yonkman to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Yonkman, 33, has logged an assist in two games played with Anaheim this season, but did not make an appearance for the Ducks during his recent January 7 recall. The 6-6, 253-pound blueliner has registered two goals, five assists, 58 penalty minutes, and a +6 rating in 31 games with the Admirals this season.
The Punnichy, Saskatoon native has totaled ten points (1g, 9a) and a 140 penalty minutes in 76 career NHL games split between Anaheim, Florida, Phoenix, and Washington. Yonkman was selected by the Washington Capitals in the second round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Earlier this season, Yonkman appeared in his 700th professional game on December 15 in a game at Charlotte.
The Admirals open a two-game weekend set with the Worcester Sharks on Friday and Saturday. Saturday's game (Jan. 18) is Pink in the Rink. Come out and show your support in the fight against breast cancer. The Admirals will be skating on pink ice for that game. Please note Saturday's game is a ticket blackout game, meaning that no coupons may be used or redeemed for this game.
