Leyland and Klein Promoted to Lugnuts

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts, in conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced that first baseman Jordan Leyland and catcher Daniel Klein have been promoted to Lansing from Short-Season Vancouver. In a pair of corresponding moves, catcher Seth Conner has been transferred to Vancouver while infielder Jason Leblebijian has been placed on the 7-day Disabled List retroactive to July 23rd..

Leyland, 23, was selected by Toronto in the 9th round of the 2012 draft out of Azusa Pacific University. The native of San Dimas, California, was batting .341 with two home runs, 22 RBIs in 36 games with the Canadians. Leyland's surname is pronounced "lay-lund," and he is unrelated to Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland.

A native of Olathe, Kansas, the 22-year-old Klein was acquired in the 28th round of the 2012 draft from Kansas State University. In 19 games in Vancouver, he batted .183 with two home runs and 11 RBIs.

Lansing's roster now consists of 25 active players with five players on the Disabled List and one player on the Temporarily Inactive List. An updated official roster is attached.
