Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lansing Lugnuts (affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) in the first game of a three-game series.
Last Game: Dayton defeated Wisconsin 10-9 on Monday. The Dragons posted one of their biggest comebacks in team history, battling back from an 8-1 deficit to win.
Individual Notes
- Seth Mejias-Brean is 25 for 47, .532 over his last 12 games to raise his average from .266 to .302. From July 10-July 23, Mejias-Brean leads all of professional baseball in batting average at .532 and hits with 25. He leads the team and ranks second in the Midwest League in second half batting average at .375. Since May 12, he is batting .351 in 62 games to rank second in the league to Leonardo Reginato of BG (.361).
- Jesse Winker has driven in 18 runs in his last 12 games, belting four home runs.
- Zach Vincej was activated from the disabled list on Monday after being out with a strained oblique since June 27. He is batting .473 over his last 17 games (since June 7) to raise his average from .226 to .280. His .473 average since June 7 ranked second in all of Minor League Baseball at the time of his injury. Vincej is hitting .545 in the half, which led the Midwest League at the time of the injury.
Team Notes
The Dragons went 4-2 on the homestand ending Monday. In all four wins, they trailed by at least three runs at some point during the game. In the last four games, opponents scored at least three runs in the top of the first inning. The Dragons came back to win three of the four. The Dragons are 12-6 over the last 18 games. They have won the last five sets, taking two of three in each.
