Lemurs Let Close One Slip Away

El Paso, TX - A three run sixth inning for the El Paso Diablos (16-29) is the difference in the game as they slip by the Laredo Lemurs (20-25) 3-2 in the final game of a four game series in El Paso, Texas.

Stephen Pearson opened up the second with a hit, followed by a Palmer Karr Jr. Double, to put runners on first and third. John Allen followed up with a single to drive in Pearson, then Matt Forgatch hit a sac fly to center to bring home Karr, and put the Lemurs up 2-0 after one and a half.

Mark Haynes (2-2) would hold the Diablos at bay through the first five, allowing only five hits and striking out four, but in the sixth the Diablos would strike for three runs against Haynes In the loss Haynes threw five and two thirds, giving up three runs on eight hits, with five strikeouts, and walk.

The win goes to Reymond Cruz (3-3) who tossed six complete, giving up two runs, on eight hits, striking out four.

Marcel Prado earned his sixth save as he tossed a one, two, three, ninth for the Diablos.

The win for the Diablos completes the four game sweep of the Lemurs at Cohen Stadium.
