Lemurs Beaten by Airhogs

Laredo, TX - The Grand Prairie Airhogs (35-13) leadoff hitter Keanon Simon belts out four hits in five at bats with three runs and two stolen bases to lead the his team to a 8-2 victory over the Laredo Lemurs (20-26) on Saturday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.

The Lemurs mustered little offense against the American Association best pitching staff as they picked up two runs on five team hits Jimmy Mojica lead the way going two for three with an RBI.

The Lemurs new addition to the infield Uriak Marquez went one for four with a run scored in the fifth. Marquez will see most of his time at third base, but he can play second and short as well.

Airhogs starting pitcher Will Irvin (1-0) made his first professional start tonight, going five complete, giving up four hits, two runs, with five strikeouts, to earn his first win.

Ryan Sasaki (0-1) made his first start for the Lemurs and took the loss as he went five, giving four runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts.

The Lemurs have lost five straight games and have lost eight straight to the Grand Prairie Airhogs. The Airhogs are currently on an 11 game win streak, the longest in franchise history.
