West Virginia shut out Lexington 3-0, backed by solid outings from Nathan Baker, Phillip Irwin, and Duke Welker. David Rubinstein's first inning sacrifice fly provided an early lead, and the Power added a pair of runs in the sixth to cap the scoring. Baker allowed three hits over seven innings and forced the Legends to strand six on base. Irwin and Welker each allowed a base runner during their innings of work, but completed the shutout nonetheless.

NOTHING & NADA: Power pitchers combined for their fourth shutout of the season on Monday night. West Virginia's other shutouts occurred on April 14 at Charleston (2-0), May 4 against Greensboro (5-0), and May 7 against Kannapolis. The 2009 edition of the club completed seven shutouts, five of which happened at Appalachian Power Park.

POWER V LEGENDS: West Virginia has played Lexington more than any other team dating back to the 2005 season. The Power lead the all-time series 53-49, and trail 24-27 at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia does, however, have the edge at Applebee's Park in Lexington, winning 29 of 51 games. The 2009 series was split at six wins and six losses.

LEADING BASEBALL: West Virginia has hit into 15 double plays this season, the fewest amount of any team in full-season, affiliated baseball. In the Midwest League, Clinton has hit into 17, while International League lowest total is Norfolk's 20. The lowest tally among National League teams is 18 by the San Diego Padres, while the lowest mark in the American League is 24 by Toronto.

POWER K-MAN: Kyle McPherson set a new single-game high with ten strikeouts over five innings on last Wednesday against Delmarva. McPherson struck out three in the first, two in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth, and one in the fifth. The right-hander surpassed his own team-high of nine strikeouts in a game, set on May 7 against Kannapolis in a 2-0 West Virginia win.

THE SHAKE UP: West Virginia made two roster moves on Monday, including the activation of Phillip Irwin from the disabled list. The right-hander was place on the DL on April 29 with shoulder soreness. Left-handed reliever Mike Williams was also added to the Power's active roster today, giving West Virginia a second lefty on the staff, and first for the bullpen this season. To make room for the additions, Melkin Laureano was promoted to Bradenton, the second Power pitcher to move up this month, while Adenson Chourio was transferred to the State College roster in the NYPL.

WALK THIS WAY: Evan Chambers leads the SAL with 33 walks, one more than Delmarva's Brian Conley. Chambers is also among the leaders across all of Minor League Baseball. The Lakeland, Florida native is tied for seventh with Sacramento's Jack Cust, trailing leader Conner Crumbliss by 12 free passes.

POWER POINTS: West Virginia is 15-0 when scoring five or more runs in a game this year and 6-23 when scoring four or less, including Wednesday walk-off 3-2 win over Delmarva, Thursday's come from behind victory at Lakewood, and Monday's shutout of Lexington... The Power were shutout for the fifth time this season on Sunday, matching their 2009 season-long tally... Monday's game was the shortest nine inning game of the season by two minutes.
