Legends, Power Announce Suspensions
June 28, 2011 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Lexington Legends News Release
Four Lexington Legends players have been suspended as a result of a bench-clearing brawl during the Legends' game with the West Virginia Power Monday night in Charleston.
Outfielder Adam Bailey and pitcher Brian Streilein will serve three-day suspensions through June 30. Pitcher Jorge DeLeon and infielder Jhonny Medrano will serve three-day suspensions beginning July 1.
West Virginia catcher Elias Diaz, infielders Andy Vasquez and Drew Maggi pitcher Brooks Pounders were also suspended.
The altercation began when Bailey, attempting to score from second base on a single by Mike Kvasnicka in the eighth inning, collided with Diaz, who made the tag at home plate. The two exchanged words, and the confrontation escalated from there.
WCHS-TV in Charleston posted video on its website as part of its game highlights.
