Whitaker Bank Ballpark Welcomes Red, White and Boom July 2

Lexington's annual day-long country music festival is coming to Whitaker Bank Ballpark, home of the Lexington Legends.

The "Red, White & Boom" concert Saturday, July 2 features 10 national artists, including headliner Craig Morgan, along with popular regional performers Eddie Barber & Off the Wagon. Gates will open at 11 a.m. The music will go from noon to 10 p.m. and will be followed by fireworks. The event is sponsored by WBUL-FM 98.1 The Bull, Hardee's and Paul Miller Ford.

Admission for the entire day, including all 11 music acts plus the fireworks show, is five dollars. Children age 3-12 will be admitted free, but will be required to have a ticket. Children age two and under will be admitted free with no ticket required.

"This could potentially be the biggest event ever at our ballpark," said Legends General Manager Andy Shea. "Realizing that we'll most likely endure some mid-summer heat, the Legends have teamed up with our concessions provider, ARAMARK, and will be selling bottles of water for 20 percent less than usual. Ten national artists have been engaged to perform at the ballpark throughout the day, and we want to make it as easy as possible for people to come out and celebrate their July 4th weekend with us. Ten national acts for five dollars is unbelievable value. Value like that is extremely rare for events such as this."

Red, White & Boom is a rain or shine event. No outside food or beverages allowed. Blankets ARE allowed on the field, but chairs ARE NOT allowed. No re-entry. Red, White & Boom is organized by Clear Channel Radio-Lexington.
