Legends Open Final Homestand of 2010 Monday

The Lexington Legends will close out the 2010 season with eight home games beginning Monday night. The final homestand includes, among other promotions, the final Thirsty Thursday of the season September 2, (which is also Toga Night), the Legends annual Hall of Fame night September 3, entertainer Myron Noodleman, known as "The Hippest Nerd in Da Biz," September 4, and two more fireworks nights.

"It's hard to believe this is the last homestand of our 10th season, but we're going out with a bang," said Legends General Manager Andy Shea. "Myron Noodleman may be the best entertainer in sports, and our final fireworks show will provide a big finish to the season." The schedule: Monday, August 30: Legends vs. Hagerstown, 7:05 p.m. Kids eat free! Everyone age 12 and under will receive a voucher for a hamburger or hot dog, chips and a drink, sponsored by Members Heritage Federal Credit Union.

Tuesday, August 31: Legends vs. Hagerstown, 7:05 p.m. Tuesday night is Quarter Hot Dog Night, sponsored by B 92, and also KRAFT Singles night. Fans can buy one ticket, get one free if they bring a KRAFT Singles package wrapper to the Legends box office. (More information is available at kraftsingles.com. Exclusions apply.)

Wednesday, September 1: Legends vs. Hagerstown, 7:05 p.m. Any Sun Tan City Club Members receive buy-one-get-one free tickets to the game when they present their Sun Club Pass. Also, a special "ladies only" event, baseball 101, begins at 6 p.m. in the Budweiser Stables. Legends players and coaches will provide instruction in baseball fundamentals. Wine tasting will be included with price of admission, courtesy of Equus Run Vineyards.

Thursday, September 2: Legends vs. Hagerstown, 7:05 p.m. It's the final Thirsty Thursday of 2010, sponsored by Kentucky Lottery and Z-rock 103. Beer and Pepsi products can be purchased for $1 each through the seventh inning. September 2 is also Toga Night! Fans who wear a toga to the game can buy one ticket, get one free.

Friday, September 3: Legends vs. Rome, 7:05 p.m. Friday is Fan Appreciation Night, and Legends Hall of Fame Night. A new member will be inducted into the Legends Hall of Fame in pre-game ceremonies. GodCry will perform in a post-game concert.

Saturday, September 4: Legends vs. Rome, 7:05 p.m. Saturday is "Jersey Off Our Back" night. The sale of regular game jerseys worn by Legends' players provides general support for the St. Joseph Hospital Nursing Scholarship Program, which provides one- and two-year scholarships to deserving nursing students at area colleges and universities. Myron Noodleman, a "sharp-dressed man with moves to match" and a familiar figure at minor league baseball parks across the country, will add to the fun. An ADI fireworks show will cap off the evening.

Sunday, September 5: Legends vs. Rome, 2:05 p.m. September 5 is the final "JIF Kids Club Sunday" of the 2010 season, sponsored by JIF and Your 106.3. All kids age 12 and under will have an opportunity to run the bases after the game. Monday, September 6: Legends vs. Rome, 7:05 p.m. The Legends will close out their 10th season at Applebee's Park. Kids eat free, and fans can celebrate the season with one last ADI fireworks show after the game.
