Legends Announce Hispanic Heritage Night

FRISCO, TX, (Jan. 9, 2014) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), have announced their second annual Hispanic Heritage night presented by the Tri-County Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (TRHCC).
The TRHCC was developed to increase economic growth and facilitate relationships between Hispanic and Non-Hispanic businesses in the community. The chamber hosts events such as mixers, educational workshops and weekly meetings to promote social interaction and educational development.
The Legends will wear specialty jerseys celebrating the Hispanic culture, uniquely branded with both the Legends and TRHCC logos. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from the organization will be recognized as "Legends of the Night."
"Eduardo being the first Mexican-born NBA Head Coach brings a lot of pride to the Hispanic community," Chamber President Heriberto Moncibais said. "We embrace the opportunity to celebrate that heritage in a fun and unique way at the Legends' game."
The Legends face the Houston Rockets affiliate at 7 pm on January 11. This will be the third meeting of the two teams this season, with the series tied at 1-1. The Legends are currently looking to improve from 10-6 after a loss to the Canton Charge at the league's showcase. Legends' leading scorer and NBADL top prospect Devin Ebanks is averaging 24.5 points and 9.7 rebounds while veteran Melvin Ely is averaging 16.3 points and 4.7 rebounds. The Rio Grande Valley Vipers currently stand atop the league with a 13-3 record. The Vipers are led by Troy Daniels who is averaging 23.6 points and 4.3 rebounds. Robert Covington is on assignment from the Rockets and has averaged 19.9 points and 9.3 rebounds so far.
