BayHawks Add Chris Smith

Erie, Pennsylvania, Thursday, January 9 - The Erie BayHawks added Chris Smith to their active roster from the available player pool on Tuesday. Smith appeared in six games for Erie while on assignment from the New York Knicks earlier in the season.

Smith (6-2, 200, Louisville) averaged 11.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for Erie before being recalled by New York on December 17. The guard missed all of last season due to a knee injury but he participated in NBA Summer League with the Knicks and earned a spot on the roster following his training camp invitation.

Following two appearances with the Knicks, he was waived by the team on December 31 they signed former BayHawk Jeremy Tyler.

Erie has placed guard Nick Covington on the inactive list due to injury, which opens a spot for Smith on the active roster. He will wear the number 0 for the BayHawks.
