
League Leading LAFC Remains Undefeated at Home After 2-2 Draw With Philadelphia

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) fought back for a 2-2 tie with Philadelphia, remaining undefeated at Banc of California Stadium this season and in first place with the best record in MLS in the match-up between Conference leaders. Mahala Opoku and Franco Escobar scored two second half goals to tie the match.
LAFC is now 7-1-2 with 23 points this season.
Philadelphia started the match with a goal from Daniel Gazdag in the 9th minute, and then Mahala leveled the match in the 56th minute. Eleven minutes later, the Union would take the lead on a Julian Carranza goal. LAFC scored the equalizing goal in the 82nd minute as Escobar found the back of the net off a deflection.
The Black & Gold are back in action in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday, May 10 when they host the Portland Timbers at Banc of California Stadium. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on TV on ESPN+ and ESPN 710 AM, ESPN LA App, and 980 AM La Mera La Mera.
