
Latulippe Agrees to Terms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Derek Wilkinson, Head Coach and General Manager of the Charlotte Checkers, announced today that the team has agreed to terms with Jay Latulippe (lah-TOOL-ihp).
Latulippe, a 5-foot-10-inch, 182-pound center from Saratoga, N.Y., comes to the Checkers after an outstanding collegiate career at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. (2001-2005). During his senior campaign, he led the Golden Knights in scoring with 36 points (16g, 20a). He finished his collegiate career with 103 points (45g, 58a) in 146 games.
Latulippe, 23, will attend camp with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL this season.
"Jay brings a lot of versatility to the team by being able to play all three forward positions," said Wilkinson. "He is a really good skater who makes the players around him better."
"It's great that I'm getting this chance," said Latulippe. "I'm looking forward to playing in Charlotte. I've heard nothing but great things about the team."
Last season, Latulippe played in five games with the Johnstown Chiefs (ECHL) recording one assist and two penalty minutes.
The Charlotte Checkers open their 13th season in the ECHL Friday, October 21st at Gwinnett. The Checkers are Bound for Uptown as they open their home schedule Sunday, November 6th in their new home at New Charlotte Arena against Greenville.
