RoadRunners Sign Radio Deal, Name Dan Weiss as Team's First Voice

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement with KFNX 1100AM News-Talk Radio to broadcast all 72 regular season and playoff games for the upcoming 2005-06 season. The RoadRunners have also named Dan Weiss as the club's inaugural play-by-play announcer.

"We're excited about building a new relationship with KFNX and to bring aboard an enthusiastic and seasoned broadcaster like Dan to call the action," said RoadRunners COO Ray Delia. "Together, they will only enhance the overall RoadRunners experience for our fans."

Weiss, 25, comes to Phoenix from New Jersey where he spent the past two years as the Public Relations and Broadcasting Manager for the former Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL. He was honored by the league this past season with his selection to the radio broadcast team that called the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game in Reading, Pa. A native of Weston, Mass. and a broadcaster for seven years, Weiss has also covered the action for the Corpus Christi Rayz of the Central Hockey League and Northeastern University of NCAA's Hockey East Conference. He is a graduate of Northeastern with degrees in Communications and Political Science. Aside from his broadcasting duties, Weiss will handle all of the day-to-day communications for the RoadRunners.

RoadRunners professional hockey returns to downtown Phoenix at 7PM on Saturday, October 22 when the Utah Grizzlies visit America West Arena in the ECHL season opener for both teams.
