Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced the hiring of Devin Rossiter as Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting. The Condors have also announced the signing of defenseman Andrew Oke.

Rossiter, 23, joins the Condors after completing the five-year co-operative education program at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. During his time at Northeastern, Rossiter served two terms as Sports Director at the student radio station, WRBB- FM and over his five years at NU provided commentary for Northeastern Huskies men's hockey, football, and baseball. He is a veteran of five Beanpot Tournaments, held annually between Boston's four major collegiate hockey programs, and has broadcast NCAA tournament games for baseball and football.

Rossiter served as a producer for Boston's top- rated SportsRadio 850 WEEI for three years. He organized live post-game programming for several of Boston's great sports moments including the New England Patriots' victory in Super Bowls XXXVI, the 2003 and 2004 ALCS and the Boston Red Sox' World Series run.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to work in Bakersfield. The organization is one of the strongest in the ECHL, and the community has a solid connection with the team," said Rossiter. "You get the sense in this town that the Condors are number- one, and I feel my experience in Boston will assist in living up to the responsibility attached to the job."

Rossiter is the third consecutive Northeastern hockey broadcaster to join the ECHL ranks, joining Dan Weiss in Phoenix and Christopher Stango in Greenville.

Devin is originally from Staten Island, NY, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Media Studies.

Oke, 23, joins Bakersfield after splitting the 2004- 2005 ECHL season between the Toledo Storm and the Gwinnett Gladiators. In 71 games last season, Oke recorded 9 goals and 7 assists, with one assist in five games for Gwinnett in the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

This will be Oke's fourth year as a professional, including previous stints in Laredo, Wichita and Tulsa of the CHL and Alabama and Jacksonville of the WHA2.

"We're pleased with the addition of Andrew. His presence at the blue line will be beneficial to us, and it never hurts to have some size and toughness back on defense," said Bakersfield head coach Marty Raymond of the 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Fenelon Falls, Ontario.

Oke joins F Justin Quenneville, F Oscar Stenberg, F Scott Borders, C Sean Venedam, D Nate Metcalf, D Reagan Leslie, and D Anders Olson on the roster for the upcoming season.

The Bakersfield Condors season opens in 67 days on October 22nd at home against the Victoria Salmon Kings.
