
Late Surge Sinks Tigers in Lethbridge

The Tigers and Hurricanes renewed their rivalry for the first time this season on Friday night in Lethbridge.
The Hurricanes opened the scoring early with a highlight reel goal. Justin Hall put in his fifth of the season with a between the legs shot while being trailed closely by a Tigers defender. Lethbridge added to their lead a couple minutes later when Nolan Bentham skated in from the blue line and let a wrister go in the slot that found the back of the net for his first of the season. The Tigers would get on the board before the end of the period. In the final minute, Oasiz Wiesblatt found a Gleb Ivanov driving to the net with a perfect pass that he redirected into the open net for his first WHL goal. Bogdan Hodass picked up the secondary assist on the goal.
Corson Hopwo tied things up early in the second period. He scored his seventh of the season off a quick wrister in the slot. Cayden Glover picked up the helper on the tying goal. Justin Hall would put the Hurricanes back up a goal late in the middle frame with his second of the game. Alex Thacker found Hall with a cross crease pass that he was able to redirect into the net.
Logan Wormald put the Hurricanes back up two 6:57 into the third. He put home a loose rebound for his second goal of the season. The Tigers would cut the lead again a few minutes later. Teague Patton finished off some nice passing from Tyler MacKenzie and Oren Shtrom for his third of the year. The Hurricanes would secure the win though with three quick goals in the final five minutes of the game. Justin Hall scored his hat trick goal on a wrister after a quick deke. Just over a minute later, Logan Womald make it a three goal game with his second of the game. Wormald grabbed the puck off a missed past and let go a quick wrister. Logan Barlage finished off the game with an empty net goal in the final minute of the game. His fourth of the year gave the Canes a 7-3 victory.
Beckett Langkow (2-2-1-1) got the start in net for the Tigers. He saved 20 of 26 shots that he faced.
